Review: Wet N Wild Megalast Lip Color Lipsticks

20170214_111639

Hello everyone!! Today’s post is going to be very pleasing for all the lipstick lovers (like me) out there. I am here to talk about the Wet N Wild Megalast Lip Color Lipsticks in three beautiful shades. Wet N Wild is basically an American based makeup brand that offers a wide range of cosmetics for eyes, lips, face, and nails. Wet N Wild Megalast Lipcolor lipsticks come in twenty-six colors, all with a semi-matte finish. I picked up Cinnamon Spice, Sand Storm, and Cherry Bomb, a total of three shades among twenty-six. There is much hype over the internet that these lipsticks are the perfect dupe for some high-end lipsticks. Keep reading the full post for all the details.

Product Description

According to their website, “This 4-hour, long-wearing lip color leaves a semi-matte cream finish in one stroke. Glides on easily with rich color that doesn’t cake, feather or bleed. Hyaluronic Microspheres provide extraordinary adhesion to lips, an exclusive polymer complex offers cushion-like feel and texture, and natural marine plant extracts Coenzyme Q10 and vitamins A&E help smooth lips.”

Packaging

20170214_123241

The packaging of these lipsticks is average looking like any other drugstore lipstick, not too sturdy and also prone to breakage. It comes in a black flimsy plastic tube with a transparent cap. You need to remove the seal on which ingredients are listed, in order to open the packaging. It would be better if ingredients are actually printed on the tube directly. The lipstick doesn’t go down completely, you can see the shade through a transparent cap even if it’s closed. One big disappointment is that every time you try to place the cap, a little product does stick to the cap and creates a mess. You have to be very careful while recapping the product after every use.

Formula

The formula is very moisturizing and buttery with a full-color payoff. These lipsticks are not matte, they set into a semi-matte crème finish. One thing that I like the most that these are fragrance-free lipsticks since I don’t prefer scented makeup products. The cherry bomb has a little bit patchy application but you can use a lip balm to tackle this problem. Obviously, with such an affordable price tag you can’t complain about the little bit of patchiness.

Staying Power

They stand for a good 5-6 hours on my lips which is pretty cool in my opinion. Cinnamon spice and cherry bomb leave a beautiful stain behind, one has to use a good cleanser to remove it completely. The sand storm lasts for 3-4 hours without eating or drinking. The staying power is pretty impressive for the price you pay.

Availability

These lipsticks are only available online in Pakistan. I bought these from Just4Girls.pk for PKR 550 each. Just4Girls is a well-known online store for authentic makeup products. I was quite impressed by their fast delivery. They actually delivered my order in just two days, which was pretty awesome. They used to offer some very good discounts on every occasion. I highly recommend you, people, to go shop from Just4girls.pk.

Swatches

Cinnamon Spice (917B)

It has a dark red-brown color, perfect for dusky skin tones. It glides on very smoothly and didn’t dry out lips. Cinnamon spice is not as dark as cherry bomb so it can be used for everyday wear.

Sand Storm (913C)

It is a warm medium brown with orange and peach undertones. This shade is a really good nude for daily wear. I think this shade will suit every skin tone. I used to dab some loose powder in order to make it completely matte. I think this nude shade will look very beautiful with dark smoky eyes.

Cherry Bomb (918D)

Cherry Bomb is a dark red/wine color, perfect for fall/winter season and this is my favorite among the other two. It’s a bit patchy like any other very dark shade lipstick, but you can fix it with a lip balm. Its color payoff and finish is so beautiful, not too glossy or not too matte, something in between. Cherry bomb is a perfect dupe for MAC Diva. I love this shade so much and I will definitely repurchase it again and again.

Overall, I am quite impressed with the quality of these super pigmented drugstore gems. These lipsticks are amazing with the excellent formulation and decent staying power, and also there are so many beautiful colors to choose from. If you have dry and chapped lips you need to properly exfoliate and moisturize your lips before applying. I will definitely try some new shades very soon.

So this was my full post, do you own any of these lipsticks? Do let me know in the comments section and also suggest me some other good shades. Stay Blessed x.
